Attendance at School
In Dalreoch we work in partnership with families. We wish to maintain a low absence rate as this ensures that our children are in school whenever possible and are accessing the challenging and exciting educational experiences on offer.
Parents/Guardians do not have an automatic right to take their child out of school without permission during term-time. The Head Teacher can only authorise time off during term time only in exceptional circumstances.
Dalreoch Attendance Policy
The attendance policy at Dalreoch is in accordance with West Dunbartonshire Council’s Attendance Policy. Please, if at all possible, inform the school as soon as you know your child will be absent. If your child is not in school by 9.15am and you have not notified the school of the absence, one of the support staff will contact you to seek guidance.
Please also remember to let us know if your child is going to be absent in the afternoon after having attended school in the morning. A note is required for any withdrawal of a pupil during school hours and a parent or their representative should report to the school office to collect the child. Pupils will not be allowed to leave school during school hours unless accompanied by an adult.
Medical and Health Care Information
If a child becomes ill during the school day, he/she may require to be sent home. Please ensure that you update any changes to contact details with the office staff. Parents should inform the school of any medical requirements relating to their child. If a child requires medication during the school day, parents must complete the appropriate medical form.
