SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT

Our school was inspected by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIe) in April 2018. The report can be viewed on the Education Scotland’s website:  http://www.west-dunbarton.gov.uk/external-links/education-and-learning/education/school-inspection-reports/

We are very proud of the achievements highlighted in the report and are working hard to ensure we continually improve. The 4 key priorities identified on our school improvement plan for session 2019-2020 are:

Priority 1

  • Achieve a shared understanding of the benchmarks for literacy to support teachers’ assessment of learning

Priority 2

  • Raise attainment in literacy and numeracy by using data to plan more effectively

Priority 3

  • Regenerate learning environments to support children to achieve their targets in literacy and numeracy

Priority 4

  • Narrow the poverty-related attainment gap in numeracy through the application of the SEAL approach for all pupils in P.1-3 and for target groups in P.4-7
